The construction of King Salman Park, which, when completed, will be the world’s largest urban park, is progressing on schedule.
“We have achieved significant milestones in terms of construction at the site,” said Abdullah Allohaidan, executive director of Project & Construction Management, King Salman Park Foundation (KSPF), at the MEED Saudi Giga Projects event in Riyadh on 13 May.
“The structural works are completed and the overall construction work on the Royal Arts Complex is 48% completed,” Allohaidan added.
Works are also progressing on the tunnels and bridges, the production nursery, the wadi cascade and soil placement at the art park.
“We have excavated more than 13 million cubic metres of soil so far,” Allohaidan said.
The client is also planning private developments within the park’s urban districts.
Allohaidan said that the project will be developed in six packages. “The first package has been awarded, and the second package is being planned. The other packages will be announced later.”
